Sorry to resurect a super old post. Just adding to this information so that somebody googling a solution will find it.On the old DL360 G5, I was able to sucessfully install both the Base Driver and the IPMI driver on both Windows Server 2016 Standard and now Windows Server 2019 Standard (Yes, you read that right). The two installers you need are CP029664 and CP029667.

(You're on your own to find them)Unfortunately you cannot just run the installers. You to follow these steps first (Do one driver at a time):1) Right click on the installer and select 'Run as Administrator'2) When the installer opens click the 'Extract' check box, and extract them to a folder on your drive.3) Open the folder you extract the drivers to and locate the.xml file with the installer name (i.e. Cp029664.xml or cp029667.xml), right click on the xml file and select 'Edit'4) Scroll to near the bottom of the.xml file and location the section called 5) After the the windows server 2012 entries, add the following lines:6) Save and close the.xml file7) From within the folder you extracted the files to, right click on the installed called 'cpqsetup.exe' and select 'Run as administrator'8) Follow the instructions to complete the installation.9) At the end of the installation, the items will no longer show as missing drivers in device manager.Works like a charm!

So I can pick up the server above for about $150. Dual Xeon E5506 with 4x4gb DDR3.

Want to run a SSD for the OS and then fill the rest of the bays with 1TB drives. Will be used to store pictures from IP cameras using Blue Iris.Instead of dropping $500 or more on a Windows server license I figured I would install a copy of windows 7 pro x64. This is where I run into trouble, Ive tried google but the only thing that comes up is HP's forums and a lot of the post just end with HP employees saying no you cant install win7 on the server. The most ive found is if windows 7 installs to use the 2008 drivers to get everything to work. Im hoping someone in Tomshardware land has done this and has any advice to get win7 to load and work correctly.

I don't need any of the server functions.

It just needs to run a program called Blue Iris that controls 12 IP cameras. When motion is detected it takes a picture and stores it in a folder.Right now I have everything reporting to my work computer with 7 4TB drives with 3 drives partitioned for the lesser traffic cameras.Work computer is a 2600k, 16Gb ram and bogs down a little during the day when a few of the cameras get a lot of motion. Figured since this server was so cheap, cant build a computer this cheap, it would be easy to offload the camera function to it. I don't need any of the server functions.
