Approximate highest serial number; end of all saxophone productionNOTES:The only serial numbers that anyone can realistically match up with dates are:- Models named after years (e.g. Modell 1928, 57)- Winnenden horns- Horns from 1948, 1949, 1956 and 1966 (and possibly 1901, 1949 and 1977, if you're lucky). All other data is highly suspect: there are no existing Kohlert serial number charts. Horn made by the Czech firm of Amati are more popular there and in Germany than Stateside. The Super Classic Amati 'Kraslice' line has a classic vintage American/German core sound, however the keywork is a bit clunky compared to many horns from the 1980's and newer. Not a disqualifier by any means. It falls somewhere in the intermediate to entry level professional saxophone category.Despite being good sounding, well built horns, they don't have a tremendous resale value here or in Europe, so I hope that you didn't pay too much.I would value it in the $400 price range in fine condition.
